AVID Night set for Sept. 9th
The school year's first AVID Night has been set for September 9th from 6-7 PM in the A.C. New cafeteria and library. Families of AVID students are encourage to come and learn more about the AVID program and how to best support their student in their academic pursuits. AVID Night will begin with hot dogs and drinks before the grade levels will be split for the evenings sessions. 7th grade AVID families, as well as the new 8th grade participants will meet in the library to get any overview of the AVID programs, its benefits, and the requirements for participation. Returning AVID families will meet to learn and discuss ways to best help their student with academic challenges. Ideas on how to ask questions that lead students to answers instead of giving answers will be presented.
